Saying all Ps2 users will buy a ps3 is just stupid. I know loads of people who had a ps2 and now have a 360 and a lot more went the wii route. If everyone who had a ps2 is buying a ps3 then how come there not miles ahead by now. And the argument it hasn't been out as long is rubbish the wii came out the same time as ps3 and thats way ahead.
I love the Ps3 but saying this kind of thing is just short sighted. The general public couln't care less for console loyalty.
Guess there sales will rise again then, now where's the Sony price cut as that would be sweet too.
They way its going the 360 might just do that. Sony need to get there act together over there. There complacency with the japanese market could backfire on them. The last thing they want is the 360 gaining ground ( albeit however small) in there own backyard.
The 360 keeps slowly rising in Japan. There not great numbers by any shot but better than they have had but whats happening with the PS3 there? for a playstation they should be doing more than that... i just don't get it.
Im looking forward to Resistance 2 but theres no way its gonna sell 8million. I mena the first one did what 3-4 mill and that was a launch title when not much else was avalible, launch titles always sell well.
Not saying it won't sell well, it will maybe 5 million or so but 8-10million, c'mon. The gane looks great but if GTA4 and MGS can't hit these numbers Resistance sure won't. Look at Halo3, which is a much bigger title with a massive ad campaign and its sold what 8milliom with a bi...
Thats what four or five weeks in a row the 360 sales have risen. Slowly of course but they keep rising. What the hell is going on with the ps3 over there though, i would have thought they would be selling more than that in Japan by now. I mean xbox sales have always been low there but Sony should be seeing bigger numbers there.
Won't they six million behind this time last year with 7mill sold to ms's 13 mill?
I actually thought the number was higher like 16million for ps3.
Well if microsoft are above 20million now which seems likely the gap is exactly the same as it was this time last year. Can't see Sony getting ahead for at least another year or two.
By the time they catch up this generation will be over i think. It was what 7 million behind this time last year, now its 6.5 million behind. half million in a year.I love my ps3 but unless some thing drastic happens its not going to catch up this year or the year after at this rate.
But so what. We still got games to play.
Ea has deadlines and budgets and the fact that the cell is a pain to program doesn't help. I just hope sony makes there next one easier to work on.

Ps3 and 360 are pretty much identical in this area. I have both and haven't yet seen one game that couldn't run on the other.
The only thing stopping the use of the consoles power is crap developers.
Of course it won't be a PS3 killer, but it will probably cost Sony a few sales. A friend of mine was going to buy a ps3 over 360 because of this but due to the news has brought a xbox so thats a sale lost right there.
I dare say it will sell more on ps3 though.
Well it ran GTA4 better than its main competitor. So guess it must be quite powerful.
Maybe in the US it will for July but not the rest of the world.

Ps3 is doing really bad in japan. I expect it from xbox but not Sony.
